Brief resume
A. K. M Shamsuddin, Chairman of E-Zone Group is the former Managing Director and country representative of Sanofi Aventis Bangladesh Limited. An MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University and a Mechanical Engineering graduate from BUET, he did his post graduate studies at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is regarded as a leading management specialist in the country.
A strong believer in continuous quality improvement, knowledge enhancement and improving upon one’s techniques and skills to meet the challenges of tomorrow, Shamsuddin formed E-Zone as an innovative venture in IT for education, HR and social development. He sits on the board of IIFC the only organization offering consultancy services for infrastructural projects. He was the founding chairman and present board member of CDBL, which now automates the capital market operation in Bangladesh.
Shamsuddin is also the Chairman of the board of NewsCorp Publications Limited [publishers of The News-Today. At the same time Mr. Shamsuddin continues to contribute articles on various topics to both professional journals and local dailies.
Shamsuddin was the first Managing Director of Social Marketing Company (SMC). Under his leadership SMC was transformed to a commercial organization from a project under the ministry of health. Prior to that, he worked for Novartis Bangladesh and Titas Gas Company respectively. He served the FICCI as its president. Shamsuddin joined Rotary in 1976 and was the centennial District Governor of Rotary for Bangladesh District 3280.
Shamsuddin is one of the pioneers in promoting HR concepts across the industry in the country. His 38 years of involvement & association as CEO and senior management positions in various organizations, gave him the opportunity to create an awareness of the importance & role of HR in every organization. Popularly known as the people’s man, Shamsuddin is an effective facilitator and personally conducted quite a number of trainings, workshops and seminars through out his career for both top, senior and mid level executives. Participation in innumerable top level seminars around the globe prepared him to be an accomplished training facilitator.
